One evening he goes to a Brazilian nightclub that specializes in Samba. The next day he hears the sound of a Surdo drum and is unable to escape it!

Everywhere he goes, the drumbeat follows him like a curse. He eventually begins to unravel and this leads to his arrest. Family, friends, and co-workers notice his unusual behavior. It causes him to lose his job and leads to a slow process of disconnecting from reality. Hallucinations that he is actually in Brazil begin to dominate his thoughts, further complicating his ability to cope with everyday life. During the final therapy session with the psychologist, an explosive interaction takes place-then an unusual twist is revealed at the film’s completion!
